Everton has already sold “the new Lukaku”

Everton failed against Aston Villa this weekend, but David Moyes must be satisfied with the start of his team for the 2025/26 campaign.

An exodus was necessary this summer, but the dramatic upheaval on the blue side of the Mersey river underlined the need for precision on the transfer market.

Seven points of four Premier League games and an undefeated race for three games gave the Toffees a platform, but that could have been three victories of three backups for a poor quality finish against the villa in difficulty.

Beto was the culprit.

Beto refreshed against Aston Villa

He came to a giant under the wing of Moyes, in Beto, but there is no doubt that the Guinean Bissau striker has faults in his game and is subject to ghosts on different occasions through the countryside.

Beto in action for Everton

The 6 -feet 4 striker adapts to the moldy mold: he is a tower of a talisman and commands the sky well; He scored twice in five games in all competitions this season, three of which came from the starting whistle.

But Beto has only one goal in the Premier League, and could perhaps have tripled his counting against Aston Villa, horribly eraforating a chance in a gagged net when he is played by Iliman Ndiaye.

Thierno Barry was signed in summer to add competition to the new number, but the 22 -year -old is gross and has not yet been installed in the hard climates of the Premier League.

It is at times like these that some fans could wish for another scorer option.

Everton will regret having sold Beto upgrade

It is a shame that Moise Kean does not turn out to be a talismanic figure in caramel blue.

Kean first started his professional career with a weight of waiting, such a prodigy that he was billed. Things were a little stagnated, however, it must be said, with its move of 25 million pounds from Juventus to Everton at the age of 19, doing little to advance his career.

Under the property of Farhad Moshiri, Everton signed Kean in 2019, but it is not unfair to emphasize that the Italian failed to bring him together, marking twice in the Premier League through 32 matches, also picking up a red card. The lacing criticism of the dysfunctional reign of Moshiri is thick, but a decision for Kean spoke of ambition, that’s for sure.

But that did not work, and after a round spell, Kean found himself in Turin for a similar figure that Everton paid for the first time for him. Thus, financially, it was not a shocking blow, but the player’s difficulties certainly suggest that it was a bad signature.

Maise-Kean-Everton

Perhaps considered the successor of the old place of Romelu Lukaku in the Everton team, Kean was one of the many failures of the transfer market during this long and endless period of struggle, and his recent exploits in Italy highlight what could have been in England.

Because Kean fought even after his departure, peripheral to Juventus. But a move to La Fiorentina resuscitated her career, then some, having scored 25 goals and provided three assists all the competitions at Viola last season.

It is clear that Kean needed this return to his country of origin to become the player he is today, but Everton saw something and failed to make him work.

Powerful and clinical and with “frightening” physics, as was noted by Journalist Carlo GarganeseKean would have been very much the next version of Everton by Lukaku. Indeed, two years after the gigantic sale of the Belgian at Manchester United, it is not unlikely that Lukaku’s name was raised during internal discussions before the adolescent’s success.

His dribbling has succeeded so much. FBREF data reveals that Kean ranks among the 14% of the highest attackers in the best European leagues in the past year for the goals marked, but also the most successful 8% for the successful taken by 90, demonstrating an athletics that Lukaku used to project with such force on his opponents.

A successful winning is recorded when a player beats his opponent by directly carrying the ball in front of them while retaining possession.

This is something that Moyes could have done good use in this current Everton framework. Merseysiders and their boss have moved away from pragmatic perceptions and have transformed a modern hybrid form.

The fifth Everton is seated in the XG ranking (expected goals) for the Premier League campaign so far. At first, of course, but evidence of growth and new tractor.

The warning being that they only scored five goals, highlighting the place to improve the ball ball department. This is by no means a blatant deficit, but an attacker of Kean’s capacity could add this difference to stretch Everton even higher on the table.

Lukaku, in its Everton form, would surely roll the crest of a wave right now, and Kean could be too. The Azzurri star, after all, was named “the new Lukaku” during his big move to Goodison Park.

Lukaku

So Moyes and Everton have Beto, and it’s not that bad. The 26 -year -old is a strong and robust attacker; He commands the box well, arguing for defenders and stoking headers to his teammates. He is a better player for the appointment of Moyes.

Only, Kean is clearly a cup above, and although it is hopeless to side with missed opportunities to develop stars which did not shine at the time, it must be a frustration for the new board of directors.

That Barry is good is another question, and the French certainly has the potential to overtake Beto and define his marker as the star striker of Everton, but he is not yet there, and Kean could have been a manufacturer of difference this season.
