Geneva (AP) – Always on the limit, England has survived another almost inevitable elimination and qualified for another Eurocup female final.
The reigning champions came from the back to Bend Italy on Tuesday 2-1 in the semi-finals which went to an extension.
Chloé Kelly scored the decisive goal at 119 minutes, pushing the rebound left by the Italian Archera Laura Giuliani after having covered a penalty.
The game in Geneva passed at an additional time when another replacement, Michelle Agyemang, equaled the scoring in the reduction time.
Kelly and Agyemang were also crucial for England in another scary victory in the quarter -final against Sweden.
It was a cruel desanlace for Italy, which had advanced at 33 minutes in the goal of Bassea by Barbara Bonansea.
England will try to revalidate its title in the final of Sunday in Basel against Spain or Germany. Spain and Germany face Zurich on Wednesday.
For the second time in six days, England had faced what seemed to be a safe defeat.
Italy would have triumphed thanks to the immense defensive work of the Elena Linari and Cecilia Salvai plants.
But Agyemang appeared a hunting after Giuliani left a loose center. The ball has passed between Linari and Giuliani’s legs to Aidy on the network.
The teenager Agyemang also marked a crucial goal for the last draw in the victory in England in Swedish rooms. The English lost 2-0 after 78 minutes, then came victorious in a lot of chaotic penalty.
