Overview for Esperance against Chelsea
Chelsea needs a point against Esperance tomorrow to qualify, but will want to go to the last 16 of the Club World Cup following a victory.
The men of Enzo Maresca apparently headed in the stadiums with direct elimination when they put Flamengo when they last exit, the early strike from Pedro Neto put them in control.
But Bruno Henrique’s goals, Danilo and Wallace Yan, combined with Nicolas Jackson’s brain dismissal, saw the Premier League team outdated in Philadelphia.
Chelsea and Esperance are both sitting on three points of two games in group D, but the difference in higher goals of the Londoners means that a draw would be sufficient to send them.
And after having experienced against Flamengo, it seems that Maresca probably returns to the experienced tomorrow evening.
“We tried to do something different during the match, also for next season, but congratulations,” said Maresca after the match against the Brazilians. “Now we have one more match, and we will try to win the next one.”
Esperance is still in the running due to their dramatic victory 1-0 against Lafc the last time.
Youcef Belaili scored the goal but had to share the applause after the match with goalkeeper Bechir Ben, whose last penalty backup of Denis Bouanga, kept the victory.
Team news for hoping against Chelsea
Jackson is suspended, which means that Liam Delap will retain his position in the starting XI.
Reece James played in a more advanced role against Flamengo, but will probably return to a more orthodox right position.
Hope is likely to be unchanged.
