Erin Foster Is Destination Wedding Romantic Comedy Series Coming to Hulu

“Nobody Wants That” creator Erin Foster has launched her next romantic comedy project at Hulu with a new series centered around a destination wedding.

Foster will write and produce the new project alongside Adam Countee (“Downforce”), while Sara Foster, who also serves as EP on “Nobody Wants This,” is attached to executive produce. Countee, who is currently under a television deal with 20th Television, sold the project to Hulu and 20th Television, ensuring the project will stay with Disney after 20th Television-backed “Nobody Wants This” arrives on Netflix.

The series is described as “an epic, sweeping ensemble romantic comedy that follows a group of couples and singles to a lavish and extravagant destination wedding where their stories intersect and collide over the course of a very long weekend,” according to the official paper.

The project, currently untitled, will also be produced by Oly Obst and Tom Lassally of 3Arts.

The new series comes at a high point for the Fosters, with the second season of “Nobody Wants This” launching last week. The show, which stars Kristen Bell as sex-agnostic podcaster Joanne and Adam Brody as sexy Rabbi Noah, was largely inspired by Erin’s own experience of marrying into a Jewish family, and became a cultural sensation and ratings hit. Viewing figures for the Season 2 debut will be available Tuesday.

Erin also created and wrote the mockumentary “Barely Famous” after beginning her career as an editor on Ryan Murphy’s “The New Normal.”

Countee has writing and producing credits for HBO’s “Silicon Valley” and “Vice Principals,” Fox’s “The Mindy Project” and NBC’s “Community,” and served as co-executive producer on Season 2 of “Severance.” He co-created the Hulu comedy pilot “Downforce” with Alec Berg, which he produced with Temple Hill and Daniel Ricciardo, and starred Eve Hewson and Murray Bartlett.
