England vs Antilles: Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones struck hundreds of people to seal the series

Edwards’ decision to restore Jones at the top of the Order initially raised some eyebrows, but it turned out to be a master stroke.

She struck two ovens in the opening off Zaida James and did not look back. The roles were reversed from their previous partnership, Jones hitting the accelerator throughout Beaumont retained the gears with a little more caution.

There were signs of nerves when Jones reached the 90s in Derby, with chances lowered on 91 and 92, but here, she has appeared in the confidence of the minute where she was heading for the middle.

The century came from only 76 balls – the fastest third of England in the female ODI – with fifty from Beaumont from 64, before starting to reach three figures of 106 balls with a six sail sent for a long time.

It was the first time that an opening pair has struggled hundreds of consecutive in the history of the format – men and women – and the hosts punished relentlessly the Antilles of the Antilles who had trouble building all the pressure of the consistency ball or a point throughout.

The bowling alley biased the two sides of the counter in the first 10 Overs which allowed their flight departure, and Jones’ luck should have been taken by Grimmond at the coverage.

The two openers were finally dismissed by the Spinner Karishma Ramharack, but they had established a platform which assured that England had its total record of 378 in sight, until Grimmond provides the culmination of tourists on the ground with a spectacular grip with one hand to reject the lamb while England would accelerate in the last five points.

Despite the confidence which will come from the publication of scores of 346 and 366 in consecutive matches, there will certainly be more difficult tests to come for the new opening pair of England and for number three of lamb, which made a fifty 41-ball.

The first of them is delivered with the arrival of India later this month, which will provide a much clearer indication of the team’s stick approach under Edwards and how they face the pressure.
