England is preparing for the T20 2026 World Cup with a last stand at the stand in Sri Lanka

Just before the T20 World Cup in 2026, England will face Sri Lanka in a three -game T20I series preceded by an ODI series
England cricket team will take on Sri Lanka in a three-match T20I and ODI series in February 2026 as a part of their preparation for the T20 World Cup. Defending champions India will host the tournament along with Sri Lanka through February-March 2026. England last toured the sub-continent in 2025 when they locked horns with India in a five-match T20I series that preceded the Champions Trophy.
ENG vs SL before T20 World Cup 2026
As per an ECB press release, Harr Brook and co. will take on Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI and T20I series beginning from January 22. The three-match T20I series will commence from January 30 onwards. The series will provide valuable experience for the England side ahead of the T20 World Cup where they will play all their matches in India. The venue for the matches are yet to be decided.

England lost to India b 68 runs in the semi-final of T20 World Cup 2024. Buttler, who was the captain back then, managed to lead to the team to just 2 victories from 3 group stage matches. England will now enter T20 World Cup 2026 under a new era heralded by Harry Brook.
Meanwhile, India will commence their T20 World Cup preparations in the Asia Cup 2025, which will commence from September 9 onwards.
