Parents of a 7 -month -old boy in southern California were accused of murder.
The office of the County Prosecutor of Riverside accused Jake Haro, 32, and his wife, Rebecca Haro, 41, in the death of their son Emmanuel, according to court documents deposited on Tuesday.
They are also accused of submitting a false police report, which is an offense.
The Haros were to be arrested Tuesday later. It was not immediately known if they had lawyers.
The boy was not found and the authorities said they believed that he was dead.
The couple was arrested on Friday, a little more than a week after Rebecca Haro told the authorities that she changed the layer of her son outside a store in the County Community of San Bernardino, Yucaipa, when she was assaulted and left unconscious. She told the deputies that when she woke up, her son had left.
The authorities said they had been confronted later in Rebecca Haro about inconsistencies in her account and that she refused to cooperate. They searched the family’s home in the County County community, Cabazon.
