Focus Features published the first trailer for “Bugonia”, the latest collaboration between director Yorgos Lanthimos and Star Emma Stone.
“Bugonia” is a remake of the South Korean science fiction comedy “Save the Green Planet”. He revolves around two friends obsessed with the conspiracy who kidnaps the CEO of great power of a large company because they are convinced that it is a foreign intention to destroy the land. In addition to Stone, Jesse Plemons plays alongside Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias and Alicia Silverstone. Lanthimos makes a script of Will Tracy.
Stone and Lanthimos are also on board as producers – via their respective companies Fruit Tree and Pith Bingles – in their last team following “Poor Things”, “The Favorite” and “Type of kindness”. Producers also include Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe from Element Pictures, Ari Aster and Lars Knusden from Square Peg, and Miky Lee and Jerry Kyoungboum Ko of CJ EnM.
Speak with Variety Last year, the president of Focus presents Peter Kujawski said: “Yorgos Lanthimos is a cinematographic visionary with a singular style that captivated the public worldwide. We could not be more delighted to associate with him, Emma and the incredibly funny teams of the element, from Square Peg and CJ ENM to reimagine this twisted and dark story. ”
Ko added: “I am delighted to present the intriguing story rooted in the hidden jewel of Korean cinema, in collaboration with the ideal team of talents and producers, alongside the reliable studio. I expect Yorgos igniting a dynamic chemical fusion with its unique style and the novelty of the story. ”
Behind the scenes, Lanthimos assembled his craftsmen, including the editor Yorgos Mavropsaridis (who published all the films of Lanthimos), the director of photography Robbie Ryan, the production creator James Price and the composer Jerskin Fendrix. Johnnie Burn is on board as a sound mixer of the film, and the casting director of the film It’s Jennifer Venditti.
The film will open in certain theaters for a special limited commitment on October 24. Followed by a large expansion on October 31.
