Emma Raducanu’s request to eliminate the crying child becomes viral

I lived a child who cries in an airplane (sucks, but I understand), and a child who cries in a cinema (it would be better the film of a child, that’s all I say). But a child who cries in a professional tennis match? It’s new.
During her match against Aryna Sabalenka at the Cincinnati Open this week, Emma Raducanu took a break to take a gesture to the referee of a distraction. It turns out that distraction was a crying child, so the referee asked: “He is a child, do you want me to send a child to the stadium?” To this, it seems that Raducanu has made a “yes” gesture and a little choir of “yes” can also be heard of the stadium fans. You can watch a video of the incident here.
Now, some things to keep in mind: unlike most sports, tennis crowds should remain silent during the game so as not to distract players. Players can ask that distracting fans be deleted, but generally the referee will take care of it before he reaches this point. It should also be noted that it was hot in Cincinnati, with temperatures exceeding 90 degrees … and anyone who has already been at Midwest knows that it will also be wet heat. In fact, one of the players even collapsed from high temperatures.
It is therefore not surprising that the crowd applauded for the child to be removed. The poor child was probably suffocating and was bored to start!
Some reports say that the child has cried for about 10 minutes forward before Raducanu said anything.
And the stadiums have often air conditioned – or at least shaded with fans and prices – areas to be dragged when it is very hot.
So, fundamentally, all of this has become a discussion where, exactly, it is appropriate to bring a small child, and when your responsibility as a parent comes to withdraw them when they distracted others.
Children will cry. It happens! And parents should not have to feel confined to their homes because of this. But we have to choose the types of activities for which we bring our children, and we must know when to throw in the towel.
However, some call the reaction of the referee at the request of a Raducanu, which seemed to have an air of “what do you want me to do?” to him. From the point of view of a tennis fan or a player, he should have been managed before this point!
Be that as it may, it seems that all these circles come back to the way in which the daycare services have become scandalously expensive in a country which provides no paid parental leave, but it is perhaps just me. 🤔
