Emirates passengers to Dubai face a night test at Zurich airport after the flight time

Some Emirates EMIC086 flight passengers for Dubai suffered a difficult evening at Zurich airport after their flight was delayed overnight on July 19 due to a technical problem.
Of the 300 travelers, some have received accommodation at the hotel, while others, especially those who have Schengen visas with single entry, could not leave the airport terminal. Most airport installations and restaurants closing at 11 p.m., these 20 passengers were effectively blocked, with limited access to food, appropriate rest facilities or clear information.
Dubai expatriate, Dubai’s expatriate, Jafari’s European summer break with his friend Sanaz finished on a sour note after spending more than 20 hours at Zurich airport. “We checked our start of the hotel and reached the airport at 5 p.m. our flight was scheduled for 10:15 p.m., and when the passengers started going to the door, the Emirates staff asked us to wait because of a delay,” said Negin Khaleej times.

“Around 11 pm, the airport lights started to stop and everyone was confused. It was at this point that the staff informed us that the flight had been canceled and simultaneously received from Emirates SMS.
“Some of us have literally had nowhere to go because of our entry license; others received housing from the hotel, and they could leave the airport,” said Negin. “The Emirates staff tried to help, but accommodation inside the airport was already full. Around 2 am, we finally had makeshift beds in a corridor, but at 7 am, we were woken up so that they could clean the space.”
Negin said that the head of facilities had quickly asked them to leave the area to give way to incoming customers. With limited seats in the waiting area, some have been standing for hours.
Although the passengers hoped to access the Emirates show, they were only allowed to refresh briefly. “We were not allowed inside, because the show did not open before 11:30 am,” said Negin
Some passengers were referred to a flight at 3.30 p.m. on July 20, while others had to wait until 8 p.m. to leave.
“My back was in a terrible pain, and I could not sit all the time. But fortunately, we went home safely,” said Negin, who has lived in the water for 23 years. “If this had happened at Dubai airport, the passengers should not have passed through all of this.”
In a declaration at Khaleej timesA spokesperson for Emirates has confirmed the delay. “Emirates Flight EK086 from Zurich in Dubai on July 19 was a late night due to a technical problem. Passengers affected have received food and refreshments and accommodation at the hotel if possible.
“Unfortunately, some passengers could not leave the airport; however, we worked closely with the authority of the airport to ensure that they have received the best possible support in the circumstances.”
The airline added that the flight was reprogrammed for the start at 8 p.m. local time on July 20.
“Emirates sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused. The security of our passengers and our crew is of the utmost importance,” added the spokesperson.
