Emiliano Vargas respects Teofimo Lopez, but eager to shoot a 140 pound / champion WBO ring

New York – Emiliano Vargas thinks he will be ready for a title of 140 pounds in the three or four fights.

If his championship chance must appear against Teofimo Lopez, the emerging Welter Junior weight is perfectly well with it. Vargas will not authorize the close relationship he has developed with the ring and the WBO champion to prevent them from fighting.

Vargas (15-0, 13 KB) finally discussed Lopez after his spectacular KO in the first round of Alexander Espinoza on Saturday evening at the Théâtre du Madison Square Garden.

“Teo is an incredible fighter,” Vargas told a group of journalists. “I respect him a lot, but if he will stay at 140 pounds, it’s on him. I have an excellent relationship with him. It’s just business at the end of the day. He is a big fighter.”

Lopez, who will be 28 years old Wednesday, and Vargas, 21, trained together in Las Vegas. While Faced Lopez would obviously represent a huge opportunity, the champion focuses on the manufacture of huge handbags for fights with opponents closer to his age and status in their division.

The point of Vargas following his boost at a boost of the Espinoza Ecuador (20-4-1, 9 KB) was that he is convinced that he will soon be ready for these types of challenges. Lopez (22-1, 13 KB) became a unified light weight champion at the age of 23. He upset the Vasiliy Lomachenko of Ukraine, who was 32 years old to beat him by unanimous decision in October 2020.

Viewing Lomachenko added the ring, WBC, WBC franchise and WBO 135 pound championships on the IBF belt of Lopez. He became a two -weight champion when he won the former undisputed junior junior champion Josh Taylor to win the Ring and WBO belts in June 2023.

“I respect Teo 120%,” said Vargas. “I don’t want a clip to arrive and you turn it over [and say] I ransack teo. I have only love and respect for Teo. And yet the bridge falls, it falls. But I am the new era of boxing, and many other fighters are.

“And I believe – and it’s nothing arrogant – every fighter who has become world champion said the same thing. I think it’s wholeheartedly. … It will certainly happen.”
