Elvira and thirteenth floor together Los Angeles Hauned Hayride Takeover

It’s been more than four decades that Cassandra Peterson brought her sexy and sassy ego alter Ego Ego Ego Ego, mistress of the television screens, putting a turn on the mocking film of the horror from the horror from Vampira and Sinister Seymour before her. On the classic horror series of the 80s Macabre movieBased in Hollywood, its cinematographic comment filled with jokes, Campy California Girl Charm and its prominent cleavage made it immediate success, obtaining a national syndication, a major film and a diabolical fans base which is endured to date.

Elvira has also become the face of Halloween via a partnership with Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, which included a thematic spectacle and a myriad of merchandising. After a few hiatus, Peterson ended his relationship with Knotts for good last year, but it was far from a farewell to frightening season celebrations for this beloved glamorous chute.

“I was with Knotts for so long, he has somehow followed his course,” explains Peterson, 73 The Hollywood Reporter During an exclusive zoom cat announcing its brand new partnership with Los Angeles Hauned Hayride and its producer Treizh Floor Entertainment. “I love Knotts, but I am really happy to associate myself on the thirteenth floor because it became a kind of repetitive. I am happy to inject a new fresh and new energy into the character and in the things I do. It’s very exciting. “

Launched in 2009 by ten thirty one productions, supported by Mark Cuban, the Hayride was acquired by the thirteenth floor of the thirteenth floor – known for organizing Halloween events across the country – in 2018. Peterson, who lived in Los Feliz, California each year. “For me, it’s very special. It is one of my attractions the favorite in Halloween. I am delighted to be affiliated with such a cool event. ”

The CEO and founding partner of thirteenth floor, Chris Stafford, also on the zoom, reveals that Elvira will be injected into the story and the tradition of Hayride haunted in several ways.

“In a way, we reworked the weft of hay in 2019,” he explains. “We have created the city of Midnight Falls and the interesting thing from the point of view of history is that it is perpetually trapped in the 1980s. They have their annual Halloween festival and the inhabitants are frightening, spicy and offbeat. It is a kind of horror comedy, so Elvira was a natural fit.”

The hay component, in which the guests accumulate in a slow open trolley and roll through the depths and darkness of the park full of frightening targeting, bizarre accessories and frightening actors, changes a little each year. For 2025, there will be an FM radio style audio programming nicknamed “Elvira After Dark”, with thematic reading lists between comic advertisements because the host guides what guests will then see.

In addition to the ride, the event presents labyrinths and its most popular, called Trick or Treat, is renowned “Elvira’s Trick or Treat Mayhem” with a facade of his new house in Midnight Falls. In addition, one of the most popular accessories in the Hayride, its scary animal skeleton carousel will have a superposition on the theme of Elvira with his dog Gonk, of the eponymous film of 1988.

“I am a child of the 80s, so Elvira has been a legend for me for many years,” enthuses Stafford. “We could not be happier to work with her and her team. We are trying to breathe a new life to the brand and try to do different things because we share a fans base, especially in the Los Angeles market.”

A large community and narrow, especially on the west coast, lovers of black culture are impatiently waiting for October each year, but these days, they are not limited to falling. Retailers like Bath & Body Works and Michael’s stores now release articles for “Summerifeen” and there is even a nasty August Convention entitled Midsummer Scream, which, according to Stafford, has led to the new partnership. The executive director and co-founder of CON, David Markland, is recognized for having presented it in Peterson. The duo has officially announced today the alliance and activation plans Hauted Hayride d’Elvira at the Pasadena event.

“Fans of the lair and Halloween are just rabid here, so I think it’s a great synergy,” adds Stafford. “There will be unique retail opportunities for our two fans and experienced opportunities for people to escape reality a little more this Halloween. I think we all need that and that explains why it is as popular as it is.”

Peterson agrees. “Since I started doing things for Halloween in the age of darkness, he has just grown and growing up,” she said. “It does not slow down. It has become such a big industry, it wores at Christmas when it comes to spending money. And the right thing is that everyone is shopping. It’s almost like personal care. You buy things for yourself, have fun and go to the holidays.”

Speaking of commerce, Peterson, who owns the rights of her character, whom she created as part of the Troupe de Comédie de Groundlings in the early 1980s before obtaining the Gig of the host of the film KHJ-TV (now called Kcal), took advantage of the universal appeal of Elvira. This transformed it into a business of several million dollars all year round. From clothing and jewelry to interior decoration, Elvira remains an alternative pin-up, popular with moviegoers and Gothic culture vultures.

The thirteenth floor hopes to take advantage of the selling potential of the star beyond the hay. “The retail element will involve exclusive goods which will only be available during events of the thirteenth floor, around 17 or 18 locations across the country”, shares Stafford. “These exclusives will reach our entire imprint.”

In addition to the new designs of t-shirts and collectibles in retro style, Peterson says that she is enthusiastic about a new Elvira deck with a rendering of her famous low black dress available as part of “Baker’s Bundle” exclusive of thirteenth floor (with her new kitchen book and other goodies).

“It’s really cute if you need a quick suit – just slap it and you are ready to go,” she said, adding that Elvira de l’Enfer’s cookbook (Hatchette) will be released in the world in September. With frightening food and drinking recipes alongside strange entertaining ideas, he follows his successful New York Times 2021, Clearly, Elvira.

Although Peterson is not there in the flesh every night, she must attend the media evening of Hayride Hauned Hayride in September and her mind will be fully integrated into the experience. While the team of the thirteenth floor ends the planning, Stafford does not want to give everything, but he assures: “There will be many different creative ways of interacting with it.”

“Elvira has become a character who transcends me,” explains Peterson reflecting on the cultural impact of the formidable woman. “His image has become a game of Halloween. It’s a bit like Santa Claus at Christmas, so it’s something that has been going on for years and years and years. ”
