Egbuka des Buccaneers continues the file of the offensive recruit of the year with the NFL for the first time in the thriller of week 5

Emeka Egbuka quickly became a serious pretender for the title of offensive recruit of the year, and the receiver of the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay deepened his case with a piece in the history of the NFL on Sunday.
Egbuka was a revelation for the Buccaneers, the choice of first round quickly establishing a superb relationship with Baker Mayfield, serving as a focal point for Tampa Bay passes.
Having won the title of offensive recruit of September, Egbuka started the month of October in style, catching his seven targets of Mayfield for 163 yards and a touchdown while the Buccaneers won an exciting victory on the 38-35 road against the Seattle Seahawks.
Following this performance, Egbuka now has 25 caught, 445 yards on reception and five receptions of touched in five games, becoming the first player in NFL history with at least 25 receptions, 400 yards on reception and five receptions touched in its first five career games.
“It is sort of 1 in 1,” said Mayfield about Egbuka. “He continues to surprise, compete and do things that everyone saw him do, as he did at university.
“It is complete and not only in football, in life. I think he has his feet on the ground, and I think he is just authentic in everything he does. He is intentional. We do not see him often, and especially as a rookie with the talent he has, we really don’t see it often.”
In addition to the praise of Mayfield, Egbuka has also received numerous applause from the head coach Todd Bowles.
“It is his mentality. It is his physical constitution. It is his will to work. He is his intelligence. He is his athletics. He is just one of those guys,” said Bowles.
“He has all the makeup and all the package, and it’s difficult to get, and it’s difficult to see in a recruit.”
Although the Buccaneers think that Egbuka has the complete package, they hope that he still has room to grow. The idea that he could do is frightening for the defenses, with that of the 49ers of San Francisco which will be the next in a meeting of 4-1 teams in Tampa.
