Earthquake detected in Concord, New Hampshire

A small earthquake was detected in New Hampshire during the night.
According to US Geological Survey, it was an earthquake of 1.5 coarse centered about two miles east of Concord.
The earthquake, which had a depth of about 6.6 miles, struck just after 2 a.m.
There is no damage report.

This earthquake follows a few minors that were recently detected: a gross earthquake of 1.4 in Meredith in June, a 1.6 -coarse earthquake in Greenland in May and a 2.0 -size earthquake in New Durham in April.
Of course, many will not soon forget the earthquake that rocked New Hampshire in January, when a coarse 3.8 earthquake was centered right next to Portsmouth at 10:22 am on January 27.

The earthquake tremors are generally minor, although there have been other memorable. In 2012, an earthquake of all 4.0 coarse centered in southern Maine rocked New Hampshire and was felt as far as Connecticut.
In 1982, an earthquake of at least 4.0 was centered near Laconia and Sanbornton. The earthquake collapsed the telephone posts and shook the houses, but there was no report of major injuries or damage at the time.
The most important earthquakes centered in New Hampshire in recorded history occurred four days apart on December 20, 1940 and December 24, 1940, and each had the same force. The earthquakes of 5.6 coarse were each centered in the ossipee area.
