“I knew this day would come, but now that it’s here, I feel so many emotions that I didn’t expect,” Smith wrote in his post. “Who would have thought that a kid from Greenville, AL, with only one year of high school football experience, would go on to play professional football in the NFL for an incredible 11 years!”
Smith was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round in 2015 and spent his first four seasons there before a three-year stint in Green Bay. During his 11-year career, Smith played in 175 games, totaled 70.5 sacks, 223 solo tackles, 16 passes defended and 10 forced fumbles.
Smith was named to the Pro Bowl in 2019 and 2020 while playing for the Packers, and in 2022 during a one-season stop in Minnesota.
This breaking news will be updated.
