Eagle Making Of Featurette For Laika’s Magical Adventure “Wildwood”

She embodies power and unwavering grace.” Laika has revealed a fascinating 3-minute making-of featurette for his upcoming stop-motion animated film titled Wildwood – now scheduled for release in 2026. We showed off the very first teaser for it in 2024 – they’ve been developing it for years and it’s only just finishing. Prue’s character was revealed from the first preview – Prue McKeel (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) and his friend Curtis are drawn into a magical, hidden forest near Portland after Prue’s little brother Mac is kidnapped by ravens led by a mysterious woman. The voice cast includes Jacob Tremblay like Curtis, Carey Mulligan, Awkwafina, Mahershala Ali, Jake Johnson, Charlie Day, Stenberg power, Tom is waiting, Jemaine Clement& Richard E. Grant. This promo focuses on their famous stop-motion studio (based in Portland) figuring out how to create the magical character Golden Eagle. They built 2 extraordinary puppets used during filming. “Meet the General, voiced by Angela Bassetta fierce warrior and ruler of the skies. Behind the scenes, the brilliant artists at Laika Studios hand-create a character that rises beyond the screen with breathtaking stop-motion animation.

Enter Laika’s Wildwood, where a mighty golden eagle commands the skies and magic takes flight. Wildwood – based on the picture book series by Colin Meloy – will see Prue McKeel leave her home in Portland, Oregon, to venture into Wildwood on a dark quest to save her little brother, who has been robbed by a murder of crows. Wildwood is once again directed by the filmmaker Travis Knightwho is also CEO of Laika and director of the films Kubo and the two strings And Bumblebee previously. The screenplay is written by Chris Butler (ParaNormand, Kubo and the two strings, Missing link). Based on the graphic novel series written by Colin Meloy and illustrated by Carson Ellis. Produced by Arianne Sutner and Travis Knight. Made by Laika Entertainment animators based in Portland, Oregon. There is no firm release date for Wildwood again – should arrive in early 2026.
