PIRAEUS (Greece) – Belgium has won consecutive titles for FIBA women with an amazing and dramatic victory back from 67-65 against Spain in Piraeus.
By dragging 12 points with less than three minutes to play, the CATS somehow launched a miracle rescue mission to dig up the most improbable success. They finished the competition with a burst of 14-0 to leave Spain having the impression of having torn off the defeat of the jaws of the victory.
Turning point
It was 65-53 and seeming that the game had disappeared, Belgium began to make stops and make shots again to set up a tense conclusion. When a triple passenger of Julie German made a game with only one time with only 90 seconds remaining the whole arena was on the edge of their seats.
Another bucket of the guard only made one match of a point with 18 seconds to play, then came the real turning point. The hero of the semi-final Antonia Delaere took a flight from a pass from Mariona Ortiz and made the dismissal which gave Belgium the head with 5 seconds to do. That was what they would hang on.

However, it turned out to be the dorsal thorn of a famous and fabulous victory when it has accumulated a double-double of 16 pts and 11 rebounds, as well as 7 assists, 5 interceptions and 2 blocks to show why it is one of the best in the world.
Statistics do not lie
Maybe sometimes the statistics are a little. Belgium won this incredible final with a bench score which was just a lonely basket. Meanwhile, 11 interceptions looked like a large number in this tight game and nervous shredding.

Belgium has shown the hearts of champions and has never abandoned. It seemed that their chance of a rare rehearsal had taken place.
