DOOMSDAY star Danny Ramirez’s role

HBO’s adaptation of The last of us has one of the best casts on television, but one key character will be a little different when the series returns to the cable network for its third season.
Nexus Point News (via GameFragger.com) revealed that Captain America: Brave New World star Danny Ramirez’s role as Manny will be recast for The last of us Season 3. With casting for the season already underway, a new actor should be chosen in the coming weeks or months.
The reason for Ramírez’s departure is unclear. However, the site theorizes, “While his appearance in Avengers: Secret Wars is not confirmed at this time, his commitments to the Marvel Cinematic Universe could have posed a potential conflict.”
Ramirez plays Joaquin Torres in the MCU and now serves as the new Falcon after Sam Wilson took over the role of Captain America from Steve Rogers and John Walker. The actor is confirmed to appear in the film next December Avengers: Apocalypse.
Manny played only a relatively minor role in The last of us Season 2, but should have a lot more to do in Season 3. Given Manny’s lack of screen time and the long gap between seasons, the casting change probably won’t have too much impact.
The last of us As expected, season 2 proved divisive. There was always a risk that viewers would leave the series in the wake of Joel’s death, and that happened in the second of seven episodes (the audience for the season 2 finale had 55% fewer viewers than season 1). Other changes to the game have also divided opinion, including what many see as a watering down of Ellie’s violent nature.
Season 3 has already been confirmed and will focus on Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby before the story presumably concludes with a fourth season. Whether there’s enough material in the game for this is debatable, but HBO seems determined to stretch both games out over as many episodes as possible.
One of the biggest changes when The last of us The return is the departure of co-showrunner Neil Druckmann, leaving Craig Mazin alone at the helm of the series.
Explaining that it was “It’s quite difficult to be so involved as a co-showrunner on Season 1 and Season 2, while also running a studio and working, directing and writing a game,” Druckmann confirmed in September that he had decided to step down as work on season 3 began.
“I looked at what was in front of me, what the next season could look like, and with all the different Last of Us things that I’m working on – not just the series – with all the different games that I’m working on,” he said. “The biggest one that’s taking up the most time is Intergalactic: The Heretic Profit, our next big game for Naughty Dog and PlayStation. I felt like I could handle all my responsibilities better if I stayed at a higher level.”
The last of us Season 3 will likely air on HBO in 2027.
