DOOMSDAY question from Travis Kelce

This may be hard to believe, given how recent the first Ant Man The film may still appeal to some, but Paul Rudd is an MCU veteran. He made his debut as Scott Lang in 2015, after which he starred in two sequels:Ant-Man and the Wasp And Quantum– and played supporting roles in Captain America: Civil War And Avengers: Endgame. The actor has appeared in some of Marvel Studios’ most important productions to date. This implies the need for a solid public relations background.
The Kevin Feige-led studio is well known for its strict confidentiality policies, requiring actors to stay on top of their secret-keeping abilities. Things don’t always work out in the company’s favor, but a few actors working for the studio are just experts at giving non-answers or avoiding questions altogether when asked a question regarding their roles in the MCU. Rudd is one of those lucky few, and he was recently able to prove it once again.
The actor appeared in THE New heights podcasthosted by NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce. The subject of Avengers: Apocalypse appeared, prompting the Ant Man star to tell the brothers: “What do you want to know? I’ll tell you All“. Travis Kelce jokingly asked if he could fill them in on the plot, to which Rudd responded: “Um, I’ll be honest with you, I’m not really sure what it is.”
And it’s the perfect way to avoid a question about a top-secret superhero franchise. He played coy, yes, but didn’t make up an elaborate lie. He gave a simple answer that portrayed him as largely disinterested in the film, closing himself off from further questions. For fans, it’s often frustrating how little information is released to the public by creatives involved in comic book projects (despite the naturally secretive nature of their work). However, when a response as perfect and funny as Rudd’s comes along, it seems right to stay in suspense.
Certainly, given a previous comment from one of the doomsdayAmong the main cast members, it could be argued that Rudd might, in fact, be largely unaware of the film’s plot. In July 2025, at The Hollywood ReporterAt the San Diego Comic-Con suite, Mystique actress Rebecca Romijn was asked if she had finished filming the movie. Romijn revealed that she wasn’t sure, given that the script was being rewritten during principal filming:
“[I’m] not entirely sure. The script is not… they haven’t finished writing it. It’s been a lot of fun, and we don’t know it yet. They keep everything very close to the vest themselves in an attempt to keep everything a secret. »
The rewrites, coupled with the secrecy described by the actress, could confirm the possibility that its stars are not fully aware of the plot. That said, given Rudd’s joking demeanor, it’s more likely that he decided to write off the comment as a quip in order to avoid any further questions about the project. Rudd was also recently asked about the Entertainment Tonight film during the press tour for its new film, Anacondato which he declared: “Oh, that’s exciting. I mean, that’s the most boring answer I could have given you…and I’ll give it to you. Take it. Do with it what you want.”
The actor has already spoken about the heavy secrecy surrounding Marvel Studios projects. Shortly after Avengers: ApocalypseIt is casting announcementduring an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonPaul Rudd was asked what he could say about his return to the MCU. The actor replied: “There’s nothing I can tell you. They’re very secretive. It’s important – clearly, as we know, they never announce anything. It’s… you know, it’s a major movie. You can’t be frivolous about this stuff. It has nothing to do with, you know, military secrets, or anything. It’s a major movie.”
Rudd will return as Ant-Man in Avengers: Apocalypsescheduled for release on December 18, 2026. The actor can also be seen alongside Jack Black in Anacondacurrently in theaters.
