Doomsday Characters Who Can Fight Doctor Doom, Ranked By Their Chances of Winning

If stopping Doctor Doom comes down to an epic final battle, which it most likely will, whether or not that happens will largely depend on a handful of characters confirmed for Avengers: Apocalypse. From the looks of it, heroes and villains from multiple realities across the multiverse will come together to oppose Robert Downey Jr’s Victor von Doom in the upcoming film. Avengers movie.
Sam Wilson’s Avengers team, the Thunderbolts, the X-Men from the Fox films, the Fantastic Four, and representatives of Wakanda will all be present when Doctor Doom begins making waves in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not much is known about Marvel’s plan for him, but the number of heroes he will have at his fingertips speaks volumes about what he will be capable of and what his power level may be.
Beating him could take a lot of things, from Mr. Fantastic’s ingenuity to Steve Rogers’ leadership to the Wakandans’ advanced technology. But the importance of raw energy should not be underestimated either.
Granted, most of the characters in the film are unlikely to make him angry. For everything they bring to the table, Yelena Belova, Sam Wilson’s Captain America, Steve Rogers, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Human Torch and many others are simply no match for Doom. But there are some characters in Avengers: Apocalypse who have what it takes to challenge him in battle.
6
Magneto
One of Doctor Doom’s contemporaries in Marvel Comics will appear in some capacity in Avengers: Apocalypse. The X-Men’s nemesis, Magneto will have some sort of role in the film. Played by Ian McKellan, he’s been on both sides of Professor Xavier’s X-Men team, so it’s hard to say where he’ll fit into the picture, but like Namor, he has a history of working with and against Doom, so a clash is certainly possible, whether it’s a team-up with the heroes or a betrayal.
On the one hand, Magneto may seem like he could act as a secret weapon. Controlling metal is his main superpower, and it’s obviously something he could use as a weapon against Doom. If Doom isn’t counting on Magneto’s involvement, this is most certainly a viable way to defeat the heavily armored Doctor Doom in Avengers: Apocalypse.
However, the comics have proven that Magneto’s abilities are not a foolproof method of stopping him. His armor is so advanced that in the past he reversed his “magnetic polarity” to prevent Magneto’s powers from acting on him. Theoretically, he could rely on the same tactic in Avengers: Apocalypse.

Namor the submarine
Of all the characters in Avengers: ApocalypseNamor the Sub-Mariner might very well have the easiest opening against Doctor Doom. After all, the Sub-Mariner is not a full-fledged superhero and would therefore be someone Doom might consider teaming up with. Aside from having an army under his command, Namor is one of the strongest people on the planet, and that’s one of the reasons why Doom holds him in such high regard.
Because their betrayals of each other are as frequent as their teams, there’s a good chance they’ll eventually come to blows, possibly putting Namor in a position to use his incredible strength against Doom. It is indeed capable of causing serious damage to Doom, but it is important to note that Doom, being the genius that he is, will likely be aware of Namor’s weakness and have a plan in case of a fight.
4
The thing
As one of the physical powerhouses in the Marvel Universe, the Thing from Fantastic Four possesses enough raw strength to hold its own with Doom. In the classic comics, the Thing played a vital role in many of Doctor Doom’s defeats, his strength allowing him to deal devastating blows to the villain.
But in recent decades, Doom has been much more resilient when it comes to handling simple raw power due to his increased use of magic and even more advanced technology in his armor. However, even with strength-enhancing armor, he is generally not in the same class as the Thing.
Thanks to Doom’s vast arsenal, the Thing probably wouldn’t be able to beat him one-on-one. Avengers: Apocalypsebut he could take a heavy hand in fights.
3
Invisible Woman
Pure strength isn’t the only thing that can be effective against Doctor Doom. Despite her shortcomings in this area, Sue Storm is one of Marvel’s deadliest characters, a notion that Fantastic Four: first steps does a lot to support. With her force fields, she accomplished a feat that would be unachievable for the vast majority of Marvel characters, which harmed Galactus.
Anyone who can single-handedly pose a threat to Silver Surfer and Galactus is someone who should also concern Doctor Doom.. This is reinforced by the comics, which showed Invisible Woman using force fields to cut through her armor.
If Doctor Doom fights the combined forces of the MCU’s heroes, the Invisible Woman could be one of the first he seeks to take down. Provided he had the element of surprise, Doom could immediately take her out of the equation before she had a chance to deploy her force fields.
2
Thor
An even more dangerous character to Doom than The Thing is Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder. What elevates Thor about the Thing in terms of threat level is that not only is he one of Marvel’s heavy hitters, but he also has one of its greatest weapons in Mjolnir and the ability to harness lightning.
Doctor Doom, at his peak, can and has defeated Thor, but the reverse is also true. With all his power, Thor is more than capable of holding his own against Doctor Doom and could overwhelm him in a one-on-one fight unless Doctor Doom finds an outside source of power, similar to his own.Emperor Destiny” State.
1
Sentinel
A relatively new addition to the MCU, Sentry, aka Bob Reynolds, is absolutely able to physically make a difference if Yelena’s team faces Doctor Doom. True to his portrayal in the comics, the MCU’s Sentry has been recognized as one of the most dangerous forces in the world.
Sentry possesses a multitude of abilities, making him the closest living equivalent to the MCU’s Superman in terms of sheer power. With his colossal strength, Sentry can trade blows with the most powerful Marvel characters, including Thor and Hulk. This will make him an asset in the fight against Doom, even if it carries the risk of unleashing the Void once again.
The darker side of Sentry’s personality is even more menacing than Bob Reynolds, so much so that it has even been heavily theorized that Sentry could be a pawn in Doom’s plan in Avengers: Apocalypse.
