The former India cricket player and the legend of IPL Suresh Raina threw his support for KL Rahul, supporting Delhi’s capital captain to return to the National T20i Fold despite his exclusion from the Asian 2025 Cup team. Speaking on the YouTube Podcast by Shubhankar Mishra, Raina congratulated the quality and temperament of Rahul. “He marked the races. You see, Kl Rahul has a temperament. People think that the T20 is a very fast game where you only need to strike, but the class, the temperament and the conscience of the game he has do not come overnight. He worked a lot, so I think he will come back,” said Raina.
Rahul had a high season IPL 2025, amassing 539 points in 13 sleeves at a striking pace of 149.72, including a century and three fifties. During the campaign, he also crossed the landmark of 5,000 IPL races, his count, now at 5,222 points in 145 matches.

In T20 Internationals, Rahul scored 2,265 points in 72 games at a strike rate of 139.12, including two centuries and 22 half-century. However, its last appearance in format occurred in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup in 2022 against England.Raina also addressed ongoing speculation on the future of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in Odi Cricket. The reports suggested that the two senior strikers could be deleted before the 2027 World Cup, but Raina firmly agreed. “Rohit and Kohli should play the ODI 2027 World Cup because they won the T20 WC and the Champions Trophy. Rohit and Virat have so much experience. I think they will be there during the 2027 World Cup; they should be there,” he said.
