Donald Trump is already making war: against blue America

It is a breathtaking statement of an American president. The various accusations against the Democrats are manifestly false. But even put this aside, exploiting a national crisis supposed to demonize political opponents is contrary to the role of a president in moments of national crisis.

It is not an isolated example either. This week has seen horrible murders and attempted murder by a Trump supporter in Minnesota – extremely the type of violence that has long afraid of Trump’s incendiary rhetoric.

What do we expect from a president in such circumstances? Consider President George W.
