Dodgers say that immigration agents have denied entry to the Los Angeles stadium

The Los Angeles Dodgers say they prevented federal agents from entering their stadium on Thursday, while demonstrations against the application of immigration continue in the city.

In an article on social networks, the baseball team said that “ice agents came to the Dodger Stadium and asked for permission to access the parking lots”, and were then refused.

Los Angeles is one of the cities where immigration agents and customs’ application (ICE) have accelerated raids to find and expel undocumented migrants.

Ice responded to the Dodgers declaration on X: “False. We were never there.”

The Ministry of Internal Security also published a statement saying that the presence of stadium agents “had nothing to do with the Dodgers”.

“CBP vehicles were very briefly in the stadium parking lot, unrelated to any operation or application,” said DHS. We do not know why civil servants were at the stadium.

This occurs while Dodgers should announce that they will help immigrants who have been affected by raids in the United States media report.

No details have been disclosed, but that would be the first official response of the Raids team.

The Dodgers player, Kiké Hernández, went to Instagram to express his criticism on the raids of Los Angeles, saying that he is “saddened and furious by what is happening in our country and our city”.

“It’s my second house. And I can’t stand seeing our community being raped, profiled, mistreated and torn,” he said.

The repression in Los Angeles is part of President Donald Trump’s policy to be more difficult for immigration.

This decision sparked massive demonstrations, which prompted Trump to send 700 US navies and 4,000 troops of the National Guard to the Los Angeles region to support the federal response to unrest.

The raids in the second largest American city take place in the context of an aggressive push to increase the arrest and expulsion numbers, because the administration was disappointed with its current rate.

Meanwhile, the border of the White House, Tsar Tom Homan, said Thursday that the Trump administration would resume immigration raids to the sites.

“The message is clear: we will continue to carry out work application operations, including in farms and in hotels, but on a priority basis. Criminals go first,” Homan told journalists.

The declaration comes a few days after the DHS announced the inversion of recent directives which called for a break on operations in these places.
