Dodgers are trying to avoid scanning against D-Backs

In a sudden offensive funk, the Los Angeles Dodgers will seek to break in their slump in the final of a three-game home series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon.
The Dodgers failed to score in a defeat against the diamondbacks on Friday 3-0 on Friday, and dropped 6-1 – obtaining six strokes – Saturday.
Subject to stagnant stretches despite Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman at the top of the Order, the Los Angeles offensive has only nine strokes in two games against Arizona.
“I know that last Sunday, we spoke urgently, and we saw it for a handful of matches,” said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts after Saturday’s defeat. “I just think that the last two nights, who fight to the end as if it were the last match, we don’t see that. We are just not.”
“… there are some guys who show it, and it’s great. But I think some guys must also push him away.”
Freeman was thrown in third place in a basic blunder on Saturday, while Hernandez was thrown at home on a tight game when he did not slip. Betts, who was the shot on deck and failed to enter Hernandez’s vision line to report a slide, brought the only race in two games on a simple Bloop.
The pitching of the dodgers has been stable lately with Blake Snell Solid in his return from the paternity list on Friday and Tyler Glasnow taking a boost in the sixth round on Saturday. Righting Yoshinobu Yamamoto (11-8, 2.90 ERA) should take the mound on Sunday.
In a departure last Sunday against the Padres of San Diego, Yamamoto delivered a victory of 8-2 well necessary by granting two points in six rounds with six sticks to the stick. He has a 2-1 life against the diamondbacks, with a 2.59 MPM in four starts.
Arizona has been in energy hunting during an 8-3 race since August 18 following several high-level trades that sent proven players for prospects. And yet, Arizona continues to be relentless in attack, while pitching and defense led to consecutive victories against the Dodgers.
“You know that something will happen in our offensive match where we are going to hit and do shopping,” said Arizona manager Torey Lovullo on Saturday. “We have done almost five points all year round. But this team is resilient. They play hard and they play hard.”
The DiamondBacks scored the first round on Saturday on a Home Run by Corbin Carroll in the seventh round, then put the match in the ninth on a three -point shot from Ildemaro Vargas.
Arizona will try the scan in Los Angeles by sending the right-hander Brandon Pfaadt (12-8, 5.24 ERA) to the mound. Zac Gallen and Eduardo Rodriguez also participated in departures against Dodgers this week with an era of more than 5.00, and none made it possible to run on six rounds.
PFAADT has just released a brutal outing against the Brewers Milwaukee on Tuesday, when he gave six points in eight strokes in 2 2/3 rounds during the 9-8 defeat of his team. He won a pair of departures in May against the Dodgers when he abandoned three points combined in 12 1/3 innings.
In six career beginnings against Los Angeles, PFAADT has a 4-2 sheet with a 4.68 MPM.
