“Do you want a player to die?”

Holger Rune expressed its distress about ATP which did not introduce the rule of heat, while players continue to fight against extreme weather conditions in Shanghai. He beat Ugo Humbert in two sets to reach the third round at the Masters in Shanghai.

Rune, who has become the best classified Danish player in the history of ATP rankings, has marked history to the Indian Wells this year. He reached his fourth Masters final and was the first Danish to achieve such a feat. He proved his prowess to the Barcelona Open, beating the world n ° 1 Carlos Alcaraz in the final and lifting his first ATP 500 trophy.

Rune also experienced a big outing at the Italian Open, leaving the fourth round after having recorded the fourth longest match since 1991. While he was riding on the Asian hard field for the masters of Shanghai, rune, like several other players, was affected by the extreme heat and humidity of the Chinese city.

In a video circulating on the internet, the Danish has been seen in the process of facing his shirtless naked, sip water and visibly exhausted.

“Why does ATP don’t have a heat rule? Do you want a player to die on the field?” Holger Rune asked for answers while expressing distress.

Previously, the Argentine Star of ATP Francisco Comana faced the brutal weather conditions, followed by Terence Atmane, who retired in the first round, and Hamad Medovic, who underwent a similar spell because of severe heat and humidity.

Holger Rune had a decent show at Japan 2025 Open, where he qualified in the quarterfinals, but faced a defeat against Jenson Brooksby in two sets. Aiming to produce better results, Rune talked about its objectives to go to the ATP finals this year, with the consistency it showed in China.

“It is always possible, and it would be my goal, to go to Turin. I think I must play better and play every point as I did today,” he said in an post-match interview, via the tennis gazette.

He added:

“You will always make mistakes and stuff, but the most important thing is that I give 100% at each point and it is my goal for this tournament and the rest of the year. Everywhere it brings me, I am happy because it is the right way for me.”

Rune has three appearances in the quarter -final in its CV, in addition to five titles in simple ATP Tour.
