Do you pee too often? Here is what normal urologists say

Many people try to urinate “just in case” before going out or sitting to watch a film. Although this is well from time to time, doing it too often can lead to the ability of your bladder to become less, making you pee more often. It is normal to pee five or six times a day.

How often should you pee?

After eating, the body eliminates food nutrients and leaves waste in our blood circulation.

“The kidneys filter the blood to eliminate impurities, maintain homeostasis and ensure that electrolytes and our acid-base balance are appropriate. What is produced by urine, and we have to get rid of urine, “Ronald Benoit, MD, assistant professor of urology and director of general urology at the University of Pittsburgh, told very health.

The kidneys help eliminate urine, liquid waste, from our body. Urine moves kidneys through muscle tubes called ureters to bladder. Our bladders are designed to contain about two cups of urine for two to five hours.

“The average number of times in the day could be around five for women, perhaps six for men,” MDHAEL A. Savino, MD, director of urology quality of Northwell, at the University of State Island, told Merywell.

Your hydration status, the food you eat, your body weight, your size and your metabolism have an impact on the frequency to which you empty, said Savino.

Is it bad for your bladder to urinate too often?

Many people force themselves to pee before getting into the car in case they do not have access to a bathroom for a while.

“It is not harmful to pee in case you go on a long journey. However, it becomes a problem if it is done all day every day, and trips to the toilet are very frequent, as in less than 2-3 hours,” said Hajar I. Ayoub, MD, a urologist at Uthealth Houston, very well-being in an email.

You don’t need to tell your bladder to empty. Your brain receives a signal once your bladder is full, and it’s time to urinate.

People who frequently urine in case that their bladder capacity to become less will eventually end and find themselves to urinate frequently, added Ayoub.

Anxiety, urinary tract infections (urinary tract infections), pregnancy, caffeine consumption and certain drugs can all make you want to urinate more frequently.

Do you have to try to keep your pee?

You don’t have to worry too much about your bladder if you have to keep your pee.

“You can never hold it until something bad happens. Your bladder will not break out spontaneously. There are very few spontaneous bladder breaks documented in global literature due to the maintenance of your urine for too long,” said Savino.

Holding your pee can feel uncomfortable, and finally, you will empty your bladder on yourself.

If you often hold your urine, you can worry about an increased risk of developing urinary tract infection (UTI). A small study of 2022 with women staying in hostels revealed that around a quarter of the participants said that the holding of their urine for long periods had contributed to the development of urinary tract infections.

If it is possible that bacteria in your urine contribute to a urinary tract infection, there is not enough evidence to say that, for most people, the holding of your too long urine will damage the bladder or will cause an infection, according to Benoit.

Do you have to worry about peeing too often?

As we get older, our bladders can weaken and can contain less urine. Although rare, uncontrolled diabetes, bladder cancer and tumors can contribute to an increased frequency.

“If someone has a spectacular change in the space of days, weeks or even a month or two, I think it’s a good idea to ask for medical help to make sure there is nothing more serious,” said Benoit.

People who have lost control of their bladders can work to recycle this body using a health care provider. If your health care provider excludes something serious, there are other things to try for yourself, such as reducing caffeine and alcohol.

“Caffeine is a diuretics. Caffeine stimulates the bladder and worsens the problem. Thus, all patients with this problem benefit by decreasing caffeine,” said Benoit.

What it means for you
