Do I have a Nuzzi for you

In the year following his ouster from new York Review on the Robert F. Kennedy Jr. scandal, Olivia Nuzzi almost disappeared from public view. Once a staple of Washington press and something of a celebrity in her social circles, she decamped for Los Angeleswhere she spent most of 2025 out of sight and unofficial. But even though Nuzzi remained silent, she didn’t sit still.

Last month, Vanity Fairunder a new publisher Marc Guiducciannounced that it had hired Nuzzi as the magazine’s West Coast editor – a curious move considering the short time she had spent at the magazine. Californiabut is part of Guiducci’s broader push to reinvigorate the publication with bold editorial names.

“In this new role, [Nuzzi] will edit articles across all platforms and topic areas, with a focus on Pacific region events, industries and culture, as well as writing for the magazine,” the Conde Nast» said a publication belonging to.

What wasn’t mentioned in the announcement, however, was that Nuzzi spent much of his time away from the spotlight working on a book, according to people familiar with the matter.
