Josh Hutcherson on the set of an orgy scene in front of his great-grandmother

Rachel Sennott and Josh Hutcherson aren’t too worried about their families watching their sex scene in the first episode of HBO Max’s new comedy series, “I Love LA.”

“I told my parents,” Sennott, who not only stars in the show but is also its creator, told me Tuesday night at the premiere of “I Love LA” at the Paramount Theater. “It doesn’t matter because it’s still going to be shocking, but also, they’ve already seen it. They’ve seen my previous work and I had sex in that too.

“They are sex positive,” she added. “My sex-positive queens – my parents!” »

In the series, Sennott plays an aspiring talent manager who has an unexpected reunion with his former best friend, an influencer played by Odessa A’zion. Hutcherson plays Sennott’s boyfriend.

Hutcherson remembers his great-grandmother being on set when he was filming a group sex scene in “Future Man,” his sci-fi TV series in which he plays a janitor and a gambler traveling back in time to save the world.

“I’ve seen some questionable things over the years that even my great-grandmother saw,” Hutcherson said. “My great-grandmother was on set the day we were filming an orgy in ‘Future Man’.”

He hadn’t really expected her to be there. “I didn’t realize that the day he arrived also aligned with the orgy filming,” Hutcherson said. “She was going to come no matter what. She was going to be there. She’s a very supportive great-grandmother.”

Hutcherson’s character also appears full-frontal in the series with a huge penis.

“It was a comedy. It was a comedy,” the actor said. “I was fully, well, not fully dressed. Grandma was like, ‘You know, it’s fiction. Very interesting, your work, Joshua.'”

He smiled: “My family can be hanged”

“I Love LA” premieres on HBO Max on November 2.
