Charles Barkley Troupe for Eagle in the best career round at the American Century Championship: “I shoot Steph Curry”

The days of the mockery of the Charles Barkley golf game seem to be really over.
The NBA renown temple and the TNT broadcaster made its usual entry into the celebrity golf tournament of the American Century championship this week and published the best round of his career in the first round at the Edgewood Tahoe Resort in Nevada.

“I shoot you for Steph Curry,” Barkley told Yahoo Sports after the match.
Playing alongside the actors Nate Bargatze and Larry the Cable Guy, he pulled an 81 for the day, with the modified stableford notation system of the 54 -hole tournament placing it in equality for the 24th row in a field of 90 players. This performance included it to take place for an eagle, applauded by a support crowd.
“The crowd became crazy, guy. It was incredible. It was a big day,” Barkley told Peacock Stream. “I thought I would play. I didn’t think I would play well … I have fun. I worked so hard on my game.”

In other words, Barkley was in the upper third of a group of people who included several professional athletes, including Josh Allen (tied to the 31st), Matthew Tkachuk (40th), Zach Lavine (59th), Baker Mayfield (75th) and Trevor Lawrence (86th). San Jose Sharks Great Joe Pavelski leads the ground after shooting a 70, with Curry just behind him in third.
In comparison, Barkley finished in 58th place among the golfers of 54 holes in the 2024, 81st tournament in 2023, 74th in 2022, 76th in 2021, 88th in 2019 and died in 2018. That a man looks at most of the land behind him in an event where he finished last these times.
Many fans will remember how bad it was. In case you need a reminder, here is one of its best swings around 2010.
With the mother of all the Strichs Swing – some would simply call him the yips – Barkley was so bad in the golf course that the Tiger Woods swing coach Hank Haney was enrolled to help him. This man continued “Saturday Night Live” and let them make fun of his swaying on his face.

His swing has gradually improved over the years. He showed a swing without coupling in 2018 and even played in the winning team in an iteration of the match in 2020 (with the help of Phil Mickelson).
Barkley, whose “Inside The NBA” will go from TNT to ESPN next season, has always taken its difficulties with public good humor and even managed to find a niche as a golf broadcaster to the point that he had an offer to help call Golf Liv events. And now he has actually published a decent tour.
