Disney+ Japan signs major content deal with CJ ENM’s Tving

Disney+ has entered into a historic multi-year content partnership with CJ ENM to bring premium content from South Korean streaming service Tving to Japan for the first time.
The deal positions Disney+ as a key SVOD partner for television in the critical Japanese market, with up to 60 of the Korean streamer’s top-performing originals and CJ ENM drama series set to launch on the platform. Content begins rolling out on November 5, with fan favorites including “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” and “Reply 1988.”

To showcase the expanded Korean content library, Disney+ Japan will introduce “Tving Highlights” as a dedicated feature on its homepage, positioned alongside franchise mainstays and the streamer’s original programming. Subscribers will also have access to “Tving Collection,” a curated hub bringing together TVING’s diversity of emotion-driven and genre-defining series.

The deal builds on Disney+’s existing Korean content slate, which includes originals “Moving,” “The Worst of Evil” and “Tempest,” as well as Japanese originals such as “Gannibal” and “Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation.”
