A new Disney The theme park arrives in Abu Dhabi.

Walt Disney Company announced on Wednesday that it had entered into an agreement with the immersive and experimental miral destination company to bring a park and an appeal to the island of Yas to the United Arab Emirates.

It will be the seventh Disney theme park and it will be fully developed and built by Miral. The Disney Imagineers will direct the creative conception and operational surveillance of the project. The entertainment giant will not invest in the project, but will benefit from the advantages of the fees.

Development in Abu Dhabi is not one of the $ 60 billion that Disney is committed to investing in its theme parks in the next decade.

“This is a exciting moment for our company when we announce plans to build a fascinating Disney themed park complex in Abu Dhabi, whose culture is rich with an appreciation of the arts and creativity,” Disney CEO, Bob Iger, said in a press release. “As a seventh destination of the themed park, it will rise from this earth spectacularly, mixing contemporary architecture with advanced technology to offer customers deeply immersive entertainment experiences in a unique and modern way.”

Iger, in an interview with David Faber de CNBC on Wednesday, said the Imagineers had already started to design the park. He refused to specify when the company expects the park to open.

The announcement reached after Disney reported a high pace and a financial result for its second tax quarter, with its experiences – including parks, cruises and seaside resorts as well as consumer products – reporting income growth of 6% on the other.

Disney has slowly entered the United Arab Emirates in recent years, adding retail places and entertainment emissions on tour like “The Lion King” and “Disney On Ice” by Broadway.

The company has noted that around a third of the world’s population lives in a four -hour water flight and that the region has an addressable tourist market of around 500 million visitors.

“This revolutionary vacation destination represents a new border in the development of the theme park,” said Josh of Amaro, president of Disney Experiences. “Our complex in Abu Dhabi will be the most advanced and interactive destination of our portfolio. The location of our park is incredibly unique – anchored by a beautiful seafront – which will allow us to tell our stories in a completely new way. This project will reach customers in a whole new part of the world, welcoming more families to live Disney than before.”

Yas Island is a hub for entertainment and retail experiences. It already houses Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld, Seaworld Abu Dhabi and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi as well as the Formula 1 Marina circuit. The region also hosts the largest shopping center in Abu Dhabi and a award -winning golf course.

At the end, the new Disney park will have themed accommodation and unique retail and retail experiences that integrate the Disney narration heritage and the futuristic and cultural essence of Abu Dhabi.
