Discussion points in England: Marc Guehi shows leadership while Noni Madueke and Morgan Rogers prove that they can push Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham | Football news

Tuchel England shows their potential

The trip to Belgrade, to cope with a team from Serbia, but to concede a qualification objective, was rightly presented as the most difficult test of England to date under Thomas Tuchel, but they made it easy. The victory clearly shows them seven points in group K. In the end, however, it is the way that counted the most.

Tuchel insisted that England was on the right track after the disappointing victory of England 2-0 against Andorra, but it was the first time that they really showed what they could be able to under their new head coach. England dominated from start to finish, playing football smooth and, above all, finding a clinical advantage.

They were of course already on the right track to qualify, after winning their first four games. But Tuchel hopes that this victory will help revive enthusiasm in the national team. The performance, with five different scorers and another white sheet, seemed exactly what they needed.

Rogers and Madueke invest their complaint

Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka could be considered two names on the leaf of the England team and Little the Bruthered Duo would have caught the insipid victory over Andorra this weekend would have disillusioned from this notion. It was different.

Noni Madueke continued his good recent form, scoring his first goal in England, while Morgan Rogers succeeded where Ebelechi Eze had trouble seizing his opportunity in position no 10. There was a fanfaron for the game of England in Serbia, but also transplants.

Roy Keane of Sky Sports, watching the match for ITV, congratulated Madueke’s movement and maturity. “He is a nightmare against which to play.” On Rogers, he went further, comparing the Aston Villa player to Paul Gascoigne to his peak due to his ball transport capacity.

It was a slight concern in certain districts that some England players could become a little comfortable, their status in the insured locker room. But Rogers put a complaint for the shirt with this performance and hope is that it will also increase the game of others.

“What he does is give the manager a problem and a brilliant option,” said Keane de Rogers. “You send a message to the manager. That’s all you can do.” Bellingham and Saka will have to answer, while Cole Palmer and Phil Foden will also have a say.

These four players and the trio that started in Serbia, including Anthony Gordon, are all aged 22 to 25. Thomas Tuchel has the nucleus of a group of attackers and large attackers who can lead each other. It is extremely encouraging.

Guehi is the new defensive chief of England

It was not barely a week since the move of Marc Guehi’s deadline in Liverpool collapsed, but you would not know to watch it during these two games from England. The 25 -year -old firmly disappointed the disappointment behind him, to the great pleasure of Thomas Tuchel.

“It is an example of how the boys were in this camp,” said the boss of England after Tuesday’s match. “Exactly like that. They put their personal interests aside and he was the best teammate possible. And he achieved a fantastic performance.”

With Harry Maguire now in disgrace and John Stones continuing to fight against wounds, Guehi has become the defensive leader of England, released calm authority in their background line. In Belgrade, he showed all the experience he has accumulated through his 25 caps.

He was rarely tested defensively, but it had as much to his conscience and his positioning as the fragiles of his opponents. Instead, he focused his efforts on the opposition box, showing his dead ball threat with his goal of Declan Rice’s free kick.

“It was very strong for Crystal Palace and showed it today on the ground,” added Tuchel. Having impressed during the European Championship campaign of last year, Guehi, the new defensive leader in England, now seems ready for an important role in the next summer World Cup.

England and rubber rice pads

Objective of a corner, goal of a free kick and a penalty to round it.

For all pre-match speeches on England, kissing long throws, the three lions completing a perfect trip-give shows that they do not yet need to use this.

And in Declan Rice, England may have the exceptional set of set in world football at the moment.

Not since David Beckham in England or no country has seen a more coherent producer of objectives in this department, with Rice helping Harry Kane and Marc Guehi from the dead ball in Belgrade.

It is always confusing that Rice did not take a single piece at Euro 2024, despite his prowess in this department earlier this year with Arsenal.

England will not have this same error during the World Cup next summer and this remains a strong option if the three Lions of Tuchel remain stuck in their low -block attempts in the future.
