The body of Giovanni Pelletier of 18 years missing from Caroline du Nord was found in a Florida retention basin after officials and his relatives launched a search.
Pelletier disappeared while on vacation in Englewood with parents, Fox 35 reported on Saturday.
The young man left on August 1 to visit his family in Brevard County and got into a car with a cousin on the side of his biological father and some cousin friends. However, the victim’s family said that he had never met men in person.
Almost 30 minutes later, Pelletier would have sent an SMS to his mother who said: “Help me”, according to Breitbart News.
“According to the Sheriff’s Bureau of the County of Charlotte (CCSO), the cousin and his friends told the deputies that Pelletier had started to act irregularly and left the car near the I-75 and SR 70 in the county of Manatee. His backpack and his phone were found on the side of the road later in the day,” continued the article of Fox.
The teenager’s mother said the grandfather that her son was supposed to meet told him that there was an altercation and that the cousins left him on the side of the road, according to the Breitbart report.
Family members, managers and a non -profit group called We Are The Essentials launched research for the disappeared adolescent, which was then found in the Ramp off -deflating ramp on Friday in the direction of Interstate 75 and SR 70 in the county of Manatee, according to ABC 11.
There was no immediate evidence of unfair play, but an autopsy will be made to find more answers on the death of the young man.

Retired FBI’s special agent Frank Brostrom said officials will gain proofs from his body to reconstruct death.

In the aftermath of her loss, her mother, Bridgette Pelletier, said that she “lived the worst nightmare of all parents” when she and other loved ones cry.
