Sunrisers Hyderabad ended his season with a 110 -point victory on Kolkata Knight Riders, and the skipper Pat Cummins said that the team had the caliber to produce better effort, but that simply did not work, attributing failure to incapacity to graft on slower grounds. “We are going to get counters like this where we can maximize, but others where we have to graft at 170, which we did not do well. I think some guys have had opportunities. Really satisfied with the team despite certain injuries and the outgoing players. I feel like we used 20 players.” But the reigning champions KKR ended their campaign on a disappointing note, finishing eighth with 12 points of 14 games.
The skipper Ajinkya Rahane missed the opportunities and admitted that a bad execution with the ball cost them a lot when they were overthrown for 168 in the pursuit of 279.
“I thought they had beaten very well. Yes, we made some mistakes during the bowling alley. The way they beat, they capitalized on all the cowardly balls and also struck all the right balls. The credit goes to SRH strikers, their intention was really great,” said Rahane.
