An explosion occurred in a Japanese military installation in an American air base in Okinawa, officials said the local media reporting non -fatal injuries.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense said that he had received information in an explosion in the installation of the Japanese Self-Defense forces (SDF) inside Kadena air base in the South Japan region.
Jiji Press and other local media said that four injuries had been reported, but none endangering life.
The public broadcaster NHK said, citing unnamed sources of the Ministry of Defense, that the explosion could take place on a temporary storage site for unplodced bombs, those responsible for confirming the situation.
“We have heard that there was an explosion in establishing the homeless and we also heard that there were injuries, but we have no more details,” Yuta Matsuda, a local village from Yomitan in Okinawa, said.
