Derek Chisora Gives Honest Answer When Asked If Jake Paul Has The Power To KO Anthony Joshua

With a deal for Jake Paul to face Anthony Joshua reportedly close to being finalized, Derek Chisora has shared his thoughts on how the fight will play out.
Paul was scheduled to face Gervonta Davis in an exhibition later this month until the contest was canceled when “Tank” was named in a civil lawsuit regarding domestic allegations.
Enter “AJ,” who hasn’t fought since September 2024 – a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium while fighting for his fellow Briton’s IBF world heavyweight title.
Since then, the two-time heavyweight ruler has undergone elbow surgery, but has returned to training for the past two months and is eyeing a return fight at a lower level before the end of the year.
It appears that he and Paul’s timelines have now aligned, with the YouTuber-turned-boxer set to become Joshua’s opponent in one of the most lucrative and high-profile ‘tune-ups’ of all time.
Speaking to Seconds Out, heavyweight veteran Chisora shared his belief that Paul would try to “jump on” Joshua, but also that the American does not have the power to pose a threat.
“If this fight happens, someone better go to jail. AJ is going to kill him, it’s unfair. Someone needs to go to jail.
“Right now Jake Paul will be watching the last fight AJ had [with Dubois]and he’s going to jump on him. It is about [how] AJ takes care of the man in front of him. Whatever happens, it will be exciting.
“He [Paul] does not have the power to knock Joshua out. Jake Paul goes home in an ambulance [after that fight].
More news on the match is expected soon. If both superstars sign, the promotion will start quickly.
