Deputy AG promises “several hundred thousand” Epstein files, but not all

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the government would release “several hundred thousand” records on sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Friday — but not all of them, as required by a law signed by President Trump last month.

Blanche acknowledged to “Fox & Friends” co-host Lawrence Jones that Friday marked the deadline under the bipartisan Epstein Files Transparency Act to release the government’s entire records on the case. The documents released Friday will include photographs, forms and “other materials” related to the Epstein investigation, Blanche said.

“President Trump has said for years that he wants full transparency and that he wants the Justice Department to disclose everything we can regarding this investigation and these cases,” he added.

Blanche said the administration would look at “every piece of paper” to make sure that “every victim, their name, their identity, their story, to the extent that it needs to be protected, is completely protected.”

“I expect we will release more documents over the coming weeks,” he said. “So today, several hundred thousand, and then over the next couple of weeks, I’m expecting several hundred thousand more.”

The law states that the administration must publish the complete documents; otherwise, Attorney General Pam Bondi could face sanctions from Congress, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) said Thursday in a video detailing what to expect.

“This is a case where the president who appointed the attorney general and who the attorney general works for signed the law and the ink is not even dry yet on his signature on that law,” Massie said. “There is nothing open to interpretation.”
