Apple and A24 today unveiled the first official trailer for The highest 2 the lowestTheir crime thriller inspired by Kurosawa bringing together Spike Lee and Denzel Washington for the first time since Interior in 2006.
The film will be released in theaters on August 15 before arriving on Apple TV + on September 5. History is a modern reinterpretation of the classic of Akira Kurosawa in 1963 Up and downwho was himself based on the novel King’s ransom by Ed McBain. While the original thriller follows an extortion victim of shoes who becomes a victim of extortion when his driver’s son is kidnapped by mistake and held with Ransom, the new film, which takes place in contemporary New York, sees a musical magnate played by Washington facing a similar plot.
