Demi Lovato’s Ex-Fiancé Max Ehrich Arrested for Domestic Violence: Report

Demi Lovato’s ex-fiancé is reportedly in serious legal trouble.
Actor Max Ehrich, who was engaged to the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer for two months in 2020, was arrested Tuesday night on domestic violence charges in Florida, according to TMZ.
Law enforcement sources told the outlet that Ehrich, 34, was arrested for battery on a person 65 or older, and that the charge involved a dispute with a family member.
However, the former soap star was reportedly released on Wednesday after posting $1,000 bail.
Ehrich, meanwhile, had worried fans with disturbing social media activity hours before his arrest on domestic violence charges.
The “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” actor shared a series of posts on Instagram and acted erratically during a live stream, according to Daily Mail.
Ehrich also posted several times on the platform, including a text that simply said, “My heart is broken.”
“Link in bio, give my mom some cheer,” he captioned the post alongside his mother’s supposed phone number.
Fans quickly rushed to the comments section to express their concern about the “Southern Gospel” star.
“Max you NEED to take a break from the internet for a bit please,” one person wrote.
“An actor I don’t even remember where I saw him from, Max Ehrich, is live on IG attacking his mother…” another added after Ehrich’s mother, Rhonda Ehrich, appeared in a livestream.
“Is he in active psychosis or something?” » commented a third. “What’s going on?”
Ehrich and Lovato, 33, began dating in 2020. The “Cowboy Christmas Romance” star proposed after just four months, and the former Disney star announced the news on Instagram on July 23 of that year.
“I knew I loved you from the moment I met you. It’s something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it personally, but luckily you did too,” she wrote in the since-deleted post.
“I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by anyone in my life (besides my parents), flaws and all,” Lovato continued. “You never force me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself.”
Although Lovato wrote that she was “honored to accept your hand in marriage” at the time, she and Ehrich ultimately called off their short-lived two-month engagement.
Another ex of the “Heart Attack” singer, Guilherme “Bomba” Vasconcelos, tragically committed suicide in October 2024.
The MMA fighter and Lovato dated in 2017, but their relationship ended later that year.
