- Conrad immediately answers one of the big questions of the last episode by addressing Eddie as “son”.
- Kevin finally catches up Rusby and puts a bullet between the eyes of his attacker.
- Alice’s dinner at the Harrigan House quickly goes south, leading to the arrest of Conrad and Maeve.
Since last week Mobland Concluded with the shocking murders of Fisk (Luke Mobly) and Mukasa (Gemma Knight Jones), you would be justified to have a vague memory of everything that happened before this bloody cliffhanger. But one of the most important mysteries of the episode, although much more subtle, presented itself about 20 minutes before, when Maeve (Helen Mirren) said “the other brother” of Kevin.
With Brendan (Daniel Betts) freshly massacred by the associates of the Mexican cartel in Richie (Geoff Bell), what other male brother is referring to? Well, episode 9 of the criminal drama, nicknamed “beggars banquet”, answers this question with its very first line. “Morning son, let’s make a little cat,” said Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) wakes up Eddie (Anson Boon) in his room.
We are not aware of the conversation, but on the basis of the next scene, which finds Eddie pouring a bottle in her morning coffee, Conrad was clearly not only for breakfast. While we ruminate on this bomb, Bella (Lara Pulver) asks Paul (Emmett J. Scanlan) to make him a favor with which he is not comfortable. The henchman Harrigan reluctantly helps to sneak it out of the property so that she can meet Antoine in London.
When we return to Conrad, he has another little conversation, this time with Harry (Tom Hardy). They discuss the next sit-down with Jaime Lopez (Jordi Molla) concerning the plane of the harrigans to steal the Richie piece of the fartanyl pie. Given the troubled past of Conrad with the deceased father of the cartel chief, the two wonder if they could enter a trap.
After the opening credits, we get a closure on the soaked conclusion of blood from Last Episode. Former deputy chief inspector Colin Tattersall (Toby Jones) holds a press conference concerning the murders of Fisk and Mukasa; Of course, he lies on the circumstances surrounding their death. He also uses the platform to announce that he will resume the working group on organized crime.
After the press conference, Tattersall meets Alice (Emily Barber). We learn that the real name of Jan’s false friend (Joanne Froggatt) is Nicola. She has been working under coverage for eight years and has no problem to fold the rules – including planting evidence – to put her marks behind bars. Alice / Nicola initially said to Tattersall that she will not risk her life by going to Harrigans for dinner, but the legislator also as corrupt the tent with a promotion and a credit for having stored Conrad.
Back in the Cotswolds, Maeve and Gina (Teddie Allen) are walking in the stables. Things get ugly quickly, however, when Harrigan’s Matriarch informs Harry’s daughter that she saw everything she and Eddie were up to security cameras. She then said to the mortified girl that she will eat her eyes and have her tongue if she does not move away from her grandson / stepson.
Meanwhile, Conrad, Harry, Seraphina (Mandeep Dhillon) and Paul arrive at Falkland Arms Pub, where they have to meet Jaime. The two bosses of the crime are seated with each other, but Conrad speaks. He tells Jaime that he does not blame him for the death of Brendan, because he understands that he was only a “tool” according to the orders of Richie. He also apologizes non -convincingly for having insulted his deceased father many years ago.

Seraphina presents the details of the agreement, stressing that the harrigans can offer the cartel twice what Richie paid for the fentanyl trade. Jaime won’t look at Conrad or Seraphina, but addresses Harry in place directly. He tells the fixer that he will think of the agreement. Conrad recedes, telling Jaime that he had only four hours to make a decision. Speaking again to Harry, Jaime said: “No wonder Kat wants you. And no wonder you wanted to leave.”
Another awkward meeting takes place in London, where Bella and Antoine advance with their shady business. The two are joined by Bella’s father, the secretary at Maison Suri Sharma, and an apparent Syrian arms dealer. Before the group begins in business, however, a close -up of Antoine’s tie reveals a hidden camera secretly recording the procedure.
When the episode finally catches up with us with Kevin (Paddy Considine), the troubled Harrigan son seated outside the nursing home with another Rusby flashback (Nigel Lindsay) rape. When the retired prison guard leaves the establishment, Kev pretends to be his carpooling driver. By learning that Rusby lives alone in Platow, Kevin brings him home.
Upon arrival, he politely asked to use the Rusby bathroom. Inside, Harrigan faces his attacker, but the man does not remember Kevin or his 1998-2002 stay in Newgate prison. Rusby claims to suffer from gaps in memory, but still apologizes to his victim.

While Rusby talks about finding God and becoming a better man, Kev fucks a silencer on his pistol. Rusby begs his life, leading Harrigan to let him frustrate. But while Harrigan begins to sob, the old man tries to comfort him by asking him if he has children. This triggers Kevin, which encourages him to put a bullet between the eyes of his attacker.
When we return to Tattersall, he meets with Richie, giving the boss of the crime the bottom of the upcoming dinner of Alice / Nicola to the Harrigans. He tells Stevenson that the infiltrated officer will not wear a wire, but will have a smartphone equipped with a listening device. Tattersall will also support it with a tactical team nearby in case things move south.
Richie tells the legislator that Harry is intelligent, but unhappy with his current job with Conrad. He claims to have been informed that by Maeve, with whom he says he is old friends. Or at least, it was, before having brutally executed. Stevenson tells Tattersall to bring the harrigans into London, and he will take care of the rest. “Leave me, Lionheart,” replies the inspector.
Meanwhile, at the Harrigan Mansion, Harry receives a Jaime call. He tells the fixer that he will accept the Conrad agreement, but only if Harry takes care of the rat they have in their camp. Harry wins, told Seraphina that Jaime accepted the conditions, but does not share the warning of the rat. He then climbs in the horn with the lawyer for the Harrigan O’Hara family. She tells Harry that she thinks that getting into fentanyl is a bad idea, an opinion that Archie shared just before Conrad kills him. Harry stops, then replies by demanding that she meet him the next morning.

Harry quickly has a taste of his own medication when a call comes from Kat Mcallister (Janet McTeer). He immediately told her how much Harrigan is grateful for his brokerage of the meeting between him and Jaime. But she doesn’t care about Conrad. “Harry is you and me now.” She said with a fact before insisting that he is not late for a meeting with her in London the next day.
Harry could be liable to Kat, but at least Conrad appreciates his sacrifice. Harrigan meets his faithful fixer to tell him that he put a good bonus on his bank account. He also shakes Harry’s hand and thanks him for facilitating the agreement. But its gratitude soon turns into grills. He wonders why Harry killed Freddie (Bradley Turner), then asks him what Jaime was referring to when he said Harry wanted to leave.
But just as Harry asks his boss if he doubts his loyalty, Seraphina interrupts to announce the arrival of Alice / Nicola. Jan’s false friend arrives with a big smile and a bottle of champagne, but things go down quickly from there. While dinner starts, Maeve suggests that Eddie checks Gina, who apparently does not feel well. Jan and Harry look at the Harrigan Boy.
Maeve continues to cause trouble, questioning Alice about her marital problems. While she offers nervous and infiltrated advice, she inappropriately gropes from Eddie’s thigh. The conversation becomes more embarrassing when Conrad takes a quick wink to Seraphina, which prompted her to question Alice directly about what she knows of the Harrigan family. Seraphina the press, asking her if she was afraid of attending dinner. Maeve joins the conversation to suggest that Conrad invited her to add to add another notch to her bed post.

As the family begins to bicker, Alice / Nicola apologizes from the table. She heads for the entrance to the house, where Maeve had already placed her empty wine glass. It collects the cup – which also contains the sprayed cigar of Conrad – and the seals in a plastic bag. Harry catches him in the act and calls on him to plan to plant false evidence of DNA. She does accusation cops, but told Harry that the police are only a minute. It allows him to keep the evidence contaminated and tells him to leave.
Back in the dining room, the family argument degenerates. Conrad shouts at Maeve, insisting for Eddie tell everyone what he shared about him earlier. Sitting between Maeve and Seraphina, Eddie looks uncomfortable and a little terrified. Conrad speaks for him, revealing that his wife has disclosed where the Archie corpse is located. He continues by saying that Maeve also led Richie, right to Brendan and Seraphina in Antwerp. Maeve does not deny the accusations, but rather doubles, admitting that she had really planned that her daughter-in-law was “cut”.
Conrad gets up and pulls a steak knife on his wife. She breaks a bottle of wine and brandished her sneaked edge to her husband. Before all blood was overthrown, however, the sound of the sirens and a hovering helicopter stops them. They initially panic, but then decide to resume act as a “normal” family before the police penetrate.
With the dysfunctional clan to their seats for dinner, the tactical team passes through the door. They stop Conrad and Maeve suspected of murder. While the couple is escorted, Maeve begins to sing loudly “20 men from Dublin Town”. Conrad soon joins the choir of the Irish folk song, the belt proudly alongside his wife. While the two are placed in separate police cars, Tattersall looks from the back seat of another cruiser.
Inside the house, Gina looks at the chaos of her room before turning to Harry and tightening him firmly. The final blow of the episode makes us in the dining room, which is now illuminated by the spotlights of the helicopter. Jan is sitting alone at the table, amazed and bathed in the shiny brilliant beam by the window.
