Deepti Sharma breaks records in 3rd T20I

Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma broke several records in the third T20I against Sri Lanka. She produced an exceptional spell, taking crucial wickets to help India win the match.
Deepti finished with figures of 3/18 in her 4 overs. Her spell helped her break three records. She has overtaken Australia’s Ellyse Perry in the list of most international wickets. Perry has 331 wickets in 271 outings, while Deepti is now the third highest wicket-taker in international cricket with 333 wickets.
In T20Is, she is now the first Indian, male or female, to claim 150 wickets. She also tied Australia’s Megan Schutt to become the leading wicket-taker in the format. She has 151 wickets in 131 matches at an average of 18.73, with best figures of 4/10.
A frenzy of records
Only two bowlers are above her in the international women’s wicket rankings. England’s Katherine Sciver-Brunt has 335 wickets in 275 matches, and Indian legend Jhulan Goswami has 355 wickets in 291 matches.
Deepti also created history by becoming the first cricketer, both men’s and women’s, to take 1000 runs and 150 wickets in T20Is.
In T20Is, she took 151 wickets and scored 1,100 runs in 131 matches at an average of 23.40 and a strike rate of 104.26, including two half-centuries in 81 innings.
Deepti in ODIs and Test Cricket
Deepti Sharma is the eighth highest wicket-taker in women’s ODIs and India’s second highest after Jhulan Goswami. She has 162 wickets in 121 matches at an average of 27.32, with best figures of 6/20. She also took three four-wicket hauls and four five-wicket hauls.
