‘Decision made’ – Lamine Yamal to change the Barcelona shirt number

Lamine Yamal should face the Barcelona n ° 10 shirt which will soon be canceled by the Ansu Fati, reports in the Spanish state.
Fati received the 10 following the departure of Lionel Messi from the club in 2021 after his meteoric increase triggered comparisons with the Argentinian icon, but a series of injuries and a loss of subsequent form saw him tumble in hierarchical order.
The 22 -year -old should now take his talents to Monaco, with an initial agreement and an option for a permanent transfer close to the finalization.
Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo Note that Barcelona officials have already decided to give the N ° 10 shirt to Yamal, which currently bears 19 after being promoted to 41 and 27 years.
Such a decision will do nothing to stop the current comparisons between Messi and Yamal, 17 years old, but it is believed that the teenage superstar is ready for the additional examination which will come from the wearing of the old number of Messi.
The change of number should be formalized behind the scenes as soon as Fati’s departure is confirmed, but public confirmation will be delayed until Yamal’s 18th anniversary on July 13, which happens to be the first day of pre-season preparations in Barcelona. It is only then that Yamal will be seen publicly with the 10 shirt.
The 10th is synonymous with Messi in Barcelona, and it is not difficult to understand why. Between 2008 and 2021, the Argentinian wore this shirt while he was established as the greatest player of all time.
However, the acquisition of Messi of the 10 was also subject to pressure all these years ago. The winner of the Ballon d’Or Ronaldinho spent five years with the shirt, following big names Juan Román Riquelme, Rivaldo and Jari Litmanen.
Further on, the 10 of Barcelona were worn by superstars such as Gheorghe Hagi, Hristo Stoichkov, Romário, Diego Maradona and Pep Guardiola.
Fans of a certain generation will also remember the legends of Club László Kubala and Luis Suárez, who were among the influential names to carry the 10 in the 1950s and 1960s.
