Frankie Muniz says that “Malcolm in the middle” restart may not be what fans are waiting for.
During a recent appearance on the podcast “Lightweights”, Muniz said that longtime fans could be “surprised” after seeing what the Wilkerson family had done during their absence of 20 years.
“I think people will be surprised, in a sense, where everyone is and the story,” said Muniz. “It’s hard to adapt to 20 years of stuff in four 30 -minute episodes, right? But I think people will be very satisfied with what they have found.”
Muniz radiated when he discussed his return to the sitcom of the family of the first Ahites, describing his experience drawing the restart as “the best moment of my whole life”.
“I do not exaggerate when I say filming this restart, as I loved it so much, much more than I thought,” he said. “We have finished in May, and I haven’t talked to anyone since, you know what I mean?” I left. I have only been at home, I have been thinking, for 12 days since the beginning of the year. I’m still crazy, and I think next week, I’m going to have time. I will reach out [to the rest of the cast]. “”
The original “Malcolm in the Middle” took place for 151 episodes in seven seasons from 2000 to 2006. Restarting in four parts sees Muniz Find the members of the original distribution Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek, Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield.
Erik Per Sullivan, who played the youngest child in Wilkerson, Dewy, did not return to the new episodes. The role was rather played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark. The other new distribution members include Kiana Madeira, Anthony Timpano, Vaughan Murrae and Keeley Karsten.
In an interview with People, Cranston said he “failed” to play Hal Wilkerson and that I loved going back to the world of “Malcolm in the middle”.
“It’s been almost 20 years since we said goodbye,” he said. “And he’s a sweet and adorable man. He’s a lovely guy, and it was fun to see all my family again. It was great. “
The official restart line reads as follows: “Malcolm and his daughter are attracted to the chaos of the family when Hal and Laws demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary.”
