This week’s match is another chapter of this year’s quest for the Cascadia Cup – the trophy led by the supporters challenged between Portland, Vancouver and Seattle. As reigning sections, Timbers are still able to defend their 2024 trophy despite the opening defeat of the season against Vancouver. Vancouver’s victory in Portland put the Whitecaps on the first head of Cascadia, but it was the only meeting of the Cascadia Cup between one of the three teams to date in 2025, which means that the argentie of the North West Pacific is still to be won.
