David Raya would have ended up improving the agreement with the artillerymen

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya accepted an improved contract with the club, according to a BBC Sport report.

Raya joined Arsenal for a permanent agreement in July of last year after spending the 2023-24 season loaned by Brentford.

His agreement with the Gunners does not express until the end of the 2027-28 season.

It is understood that the duration of the agreement has not been extended. However, Raya would have received an increase in a reported weekly salary by £ 100,000.

The improved contract would have been agreed in summer, but has not yet been officially announced by Arsenal, which would have concluded a similar arrangement with Leandro Trossard without officially announcing it.

Raya made 105 appearances for Arsenal since he had his initial Brentford loan move.

International Spain has 45 clean sheets for the Gunners and won the Golden Glove Award for the cleanest clean sheets of the Premier League in each of the last two seasons, sharing the honor with Matz Sels of Nottingham Forest during the previous campaign.
