Dave Calabro visits the house 2 times the winner of the defense of Indy 500 Josef Newgarden

Nashville, Tennessee – Josef Newgarden will seek to make history at the 109th Indianapolis 500 on Sunday May 25 as the first pilot to win three consecutive times.
But when Josef is not on the track, he takes advantage of family time in Nashville, Tennessee.
13 Dave Calabro of Sports went south to check life with the NewGardens – Josef; His wife, Ashley; And their 3 year old son, Koda.
“Does he know what you are doing?” Calabro questioned Josef on Koda.
“It’s more surprising how he knows about Indy 500,” said Josef about Koda.
“Your dad has poured milk on his head. Why did he do that?” Calabro asked Koda.
“Because he was a villain,” Koda replied.
“He’s a bad guy. I really like it,” said Calabro.
Family time gives Josef for a moment to think about the last two years of winning the biggest spectacle in the race.
“It blows me to see what we have achieved,” said Newgarden.
Newgarden’s house is Josef’s private escape of a very public life. Inside, there is a massive training room, and just in the corridor, there are a lot of toys.
And when you go to an Indy 500 winner, you have to go to the garage, where Josef has a Corvette, a Porsche and a Camaro.

“Are you a polished driver on the roads?” Calabro asked Josef.
“No. I lead like a grandmother on the road because I run,” said Josef.

On the walls are Josef’s victory crowns which lead to his “man cave”.
“I spend a lot of time here normally when I’m at home. I’m in my office here most of the time. This is where I hang out,” said Josef.
The trophies line the shelves, with the two babies of Indy 500 as its most precious goods.

“Talk to me about the campaign to have another to get the third – no one has ever done it, 108 tests, now 109,” said Calabro.
“I really want to win the race again. I think it’s going to be circumstances if it’s three in a row. It’s just what it is,” said Josef. “This is not what I think. Of course, it would be incredible, and no one did it, but I just want to win. I just want to win the race, so if it happens to be three in a row, then that’s what it will be.”
Josef’s consecutive victories have catapulted him to glory, which is accompanied by many unique opportunities, such as visiting the White House and undoubtedly becoming the face of the Indycar series.
“I take it seriously. I really do it. I care about Indy 500. I care about the Indiana community,” said Josef. “I grew up in karting there, so Indiana is like my second house. We are sentimental, but it is the biggest race on the planet. This is really the case.”

Ashley has been with Josef from the start when he was just a young man flowing a dream – and she says he’s always the same guy.
“I have no problem with this. He is so anchored. The only thing that man cares is now from Koda and the race. It has never changed, even with success,” said Ashley. “I think a lot of people would be like:” I checked this on my list. Now I’m full. “This is not how it works.
And obviously, the next on his list is the three peat at Indy 500.
“Victory is most about it,” said Josef. “When you can put the crown, drink the milk, kiss the bricks, go around the track and see everyone there, I mean for me, entering the crowd is by far my favorite game to win the race. It’s the gift to win it.”

The two biggest fans of Josef – Ashley and Koda – will be there on the day of the race while he is trying to make history with a third consecutive victory. And Koda already predicts how it will happen.
“Papa’s racing car was the fastest,” Koda said.
