‘Dark Winds’ Season 4 Release Date Set by AMC and AMC+

Lt. Joe Leaphorn learned about his latest case in the first teaser for Season 4 of AMC and AMC+’s thriller series “Dark Winds,” which will return on February 15, 2026. The new season will consist of eight one-hour episodes.
Based on the “Leaphorn & Chee” book series and adapted by Graham Roland, “Dark Winds” is set in the 1970s and focuses on members of the Navajo tribal police as they solve mysteries on their reservation, surrounded by violent crime.
Zahn McClarnon produces and stars as Lt. Joe Leaphorn. He will also make his directorial debut in the upcoming season.
The cast is rounded out by Kiowa Godon as Jim Cheess, Jessica Matten as Bernadette Manuelto and Denna Allison as Emma Leaphorn.
The fourth season will focus on “the search for a missing Navajo girl, which takes Leaphorn, Chee and Manuelito from the safety of the Navajo Nation to the harsh terrains of 1970s Los Angeles in a race against time to save her from an obsessive killer with ties to organized crime,” the official description reads.
Season 4 will also introduce a slate of new cast members, including Franka Potente as Irene Vaggan, Isabel DeRoy-Olson as Billie Tsosie, Chaske Spencer as Sonny, Luke Barnett as FBI Special Agent Toby Shaw, and Titus Welliver as Dominic McNair.
A. Martinez is also expected to return in season 4 as interim chief of the Scarborough Police Department, Gordo Sena.
John Wirth is the showrunner. The series is executive produced by the late Robert Redford, Martin, Roland, Wirth, McClarnon, Chris Eyre, Tina Elmo, Jim Chory, Thomas Brady, Max Hurwitz, Vince Gerardis and Anne Hillerman.
