Danica McKellar, who moved to Tennessee three years ago, notes that more and more people in the entertainment industry leave Los Angeles.
The former star of “Wonder Years” said that when her stepson graduated from the school, she and her husband decided that they wanted to leave California, where she lived for 40 years.
“I do not know, California and Los Angeles did not feel like that for us, and I wanted to be closer to Draco, so he did not have to fly so far, and I therefore liked Tennessee,” she told Christine Taylor and David Lascher on their “hey guy … The 90s called!” podcast.
McKellar’s 15-year-old son Draco had stolen between Los Angeles and Florida where his father lives, the ex-husband of McKellar, Mike Verta.

She said that she and her husband, lawyer Scott Sveslosky, did not want to move to Florida, but they wanted to be closer, so it would not be so far for her son.
“We came to Tennessee and loved this big house and, yes, were ready to change. I lived in Los Angeles for 40 years,” said McKellar.
She added that they “wanted more nature. We wanted to be surrounded by more green”.
Lascher said he often thought about where he and his wife would move once his son graduated from the school.
“I have a lot of friends who have moved, you know, Melissa [Joan Hart] has been in Tennessee for a long time, my good friend [screenwriter and director] Doug Ellin suddenly upwards and moved to Nashville, I mean, many people from Los Angeles, “he said.

McKellar underlined the former star of “Beverly Hills, 90210” Jason Priestley as another famous friend who now lives in Tennessee.
“Many people live here now,” she said, “because we have also learned for Covid that you don’t really have to be in a special place for jobs.”
Priestley said to E! News last year that he and his family “love” in Nashville, where life is “so much easier to navigate”.
McKellar said that her husband still had a law firm based in Los Angeles, but he only flies to the west coast only a month because he can do the rest of his work at a distance.
Lascher added that he had met Scott Wolf last week in Park City, Utah, where the former star of “Party of Five” raises his children.

“He steals in Toronto to make his show,” he said. “I said to myself:” Oh my God, do you live here? Why don’t I live here? “”
He added that he “takes this courage to say:” Oh, I don’t have to live in Los An [where to live]. “”
Taylor noted that people make decisions about where to live often according to their children.

“We left Los Angeles when our children were very young and it was a deliberate choice because we somehow feel more they aged, the more we are not going to want to shoot them from their friends,” said Taylor, who shares two adult children with Ben Stiller. The couple live in New York.
“It was always difficult when they were 8 and 5 years old to do it. But it was the right decision for our family,” she added.

Lascher also explained that no one meets in person in the entertainment sector.
“All other cases are back in the office, but all my meetings, whether writing or production or even reading for things, everything is on the zoom or the video,” he revealed.
Taylor described him as a “victim of Covid”.

“But it’s practical,” added McKellar.
Other celebrities such as Mark Wahlberg, Sylvester Stallone, Jessica Simpson, Dean Cain and Ali Lartter also spoke of leaving Los Angeles as they continue their career.
“We say to ourselves:” Try ourselves “and we were really lucky to find an incredible community there,” said Larter, who plays on “Landman,” said Fox News Digital last year about the move of his family in Idaho. “And we have really responded to the ethics of this city. It is a simpler life with really generous people, and there is a responsibility when you live in a small town in which we really loved to raise our children.”
Cain told “Fox & Friends” in 2023 that he loves “California, the most beautiful condition – everything is wonderful on this subject, except for politicians”. He now lives in Henderson, Nevada.
