Alfonso Ribeiro launched the Halloween party on Dancing with the stars with a scary piece of information: Elaine Hendrix will not be competing tonight.
Ribeiro opened Tuesday’s ABC show by revealing the Weird Friday The actress was injured and is currently in hospital. Hendrix is still part of the cast and, as a result, will be judged for the Argentine tango she performed during Tuesday’s rehearsal before having to be taken away on a stretcher.
In a video shown during the show, a tearful Hendrix explained to partner Alan Bersten that it felt like his “muscles were twisting under my rib.” Their tango involved several lists that placed Hendrix above Bersten’s shoulders.
Hendrix posted a video from her hospital bed and explained that she injured her ribs during Wicked night last week and they “seized up” earlier Tuesday.
“I couldn’t move,” she said, adding that she needed a day or two to rest.
“Halloween is my favorite and I’m devastated,” she continued. “I was more than happy to share what we’ve been working so hard on, although you’ll see a version of it. With your support, I’ll be back in the ballroom next week. There’s nothing more I want.”
