The rapper withdrew from music festivals alleging that they wanted her to make “free” statements on stage

The musician Azealia Banks said on Wednesday that she had canceled her performances at two British festivals to come because they had asked her to make anti-Israeli statements on stage.

The rapper and singer went to X earlier this week to announce that she was withdrawing from Maiden Voyage Festival in London, as well as the Boomtown festival in Hampshire. She allegedly alleged that the event promoters said that she should push Pro-Palestinian slogans during her performances.

“So guys, I cancel the journey of Boomtown and Maiden, the promoters have stressed me for weeks by trying to force me to say freely from Palestine and threatened to cut myself off from the bill because I will not say free Palestine and I do not do business with threats and I do not put an F —— Hijab”, she wrote.

Rapper Azealia Banks recently accused two British music festivals of trying to force her to make pro-Palestinian statements during performance.

The long position of the “luxury” singer continued. She allegedly alleged that the two events had threatened to cut her actions if she did not comply with the requests, and noted that she had gone forward and withdrew first because she did not agree with the requests.

“They both try to extort me-by insinuating that I must say that I support Palestine or they will drop me off the concert, but I prefer to drop them and not to associate with everything that has a cheap group, thinks that B ——– He is attached to it.”

However, Banks was not finished.

She continued: “If they want to allow without name to intimidate them to desecrate the nature of this musical ecosystem and make me the problem – although there is absolutely no ethical consumption under capitalism. So that’s fine.”

Banks continued her thread, clarifying that she had no bad will towards Gaza or the Palestinian people, but that it was tired of the political declarations that surround it.

“And no, I am not saying F — real Palestine. But f — Tes stupid and performative slogans B ———- You want to make a position so bad but do not defend yourself absolutely nothing.”

She then accused people in the media of having the outrage of something they know nothing, adding: “And all of a sudden, you throw words like the genocide and the Zionist who does not even know the meaning of these words while you drive in your teslas and leave comments of your iphones built on the back and blood of children working in mines from Dusk Til.”

“Kiss my A …,” she added.

On Saturday, Banks followed X on X, saying: “This Palestine S — is boring and exhausting. Now, I must drive the word on each platform and return to ignore it. I really do not give an F — more LMFAO, you do not get in my happy musical space with this S —.”

In a statement, Boomtown Festival challenged Banks’ claims that the promoters tried to make her say anything, although it confirmed that she had been abandoned.

“Following his post on X in the early hours of this morning, we can confirm that heyalia banks withdrew from the programming and will no longer perform at the Boomtown Festival. For more clarity, Boomtown does not dictate and will never dictate the personal opinions and beliefs of the artists,” said a spokesperson.

Maiden Voyage Festival did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s comments, although the festival Instagram page has confirmed that banks “will no longer occur” during the event.
